How to Work on Your Mobility While Standing

This is a video for those who have requested a simple routine of mobility exercises while remaining upright.

In this video, I use a dowel at times to help maintain balance. You can use a broomstick, golf club, or any other similar object, or you can try doing everything without support, which will help you develop your balance and proprioception.

If you are having issues with hearing the audio in this or any of our other videos, please be sure that the volume is turned up on the video itself via the little speaker button and sliding bar that appears when you scroll over the bottom left portion of the video, and please also be sure that the volume on your device is sufficiently turned up.

I apologize for appearing mostly as a silhouette in this video - I was only able to shoot this in one take before a large walking group descended upon me, and I didn't realize that the tree shadows that I purposefully took refuge under turned me into a silhouette on video. Hopefully, you can still make out everything that I do in this video - if you have any questions, please feel free to use the comments section below or e-mail me at benkim@drbenkim.com.

Those are great stretches! Thank you.

This video and exercises are great. Your voice is extremely calming to me. Do you have any videos focusing on relaxation or sleep?

Hi Shannon,
Dr. Kim does not have any videos on relaxation or sleep, though he has written articles about both, and does offer some CDs that can enhance these (though they do not have his voice.)You can find the articles by using the Search field at the top of this page.

Sincerely,
Colleen
