Dark Chocolate Almond Butter Smoothie Recipe

Untitled

Rich in healthy protein, heart-healthy flavonoids, and the right kind of carbohydrates to fuel an active day or to replenish glycogen stores after a workout, this dark chocolate and almond butter smoothie is satisfying enough to be a meal on its own. To further increase your protein intake, you can add a serving of the following organic plant protein blend: Vanilla Chai Organic Plant Protein Blend

The quantities here produce approximately 2 large smoothies.

Ingredients:

2 large or 3 medium bananas, peeled, sliced, and frozen
3 tablespoons dark chocolate chips or chunks
3 heaping tablespoons almond butter
Almond milk
1 serving of Vanilla Chai Organic Plant Protein Blend per smoothie being made

Directions:

Add all ingredients except for one tablespoon of chocolate chips/chunks to a blender. Use just enough almond milk to cover the ingredients. Less almond milk will produce a soft ice cream consistency, while more milk will create a milkshake-like consistency.

Once blended and transferred to cups or glasses, sprinkle some chocolate chips on top as a garnish. Enjoy!

If you want to reduce the sugar, you can use cocoa instead of chocolate chips and add cocoa nibs in too.
