Striving To Carry Only What We Love

Heartfelt thanks to everyone who took time to share thoughtful notes of feedback in response to the mention of Abigail Shrier's book.  As anticipated, there were a few who disapproved of this mention but the many notes that came in expressing thanks for sharing this information leads me to believe that the vast majority of our readership appreciates the intention to increase awareness through honest conversation.

There was a time many years ago when notes of rage would stay with me for a while, but I'm thankful to observe that they no longer do.  I find myself valuing those who can express differing views with grace.  On the other hand, messages that carry a strong scent of hate or outrage are not fully read - when one receives hundreds and sometimes thousands of messages in response to a newsletter, it becomes somewhat natural to know within a sentence or two if the rest of the message is worth reading.  When I get a whiff of hate, I press delete and move on.

I share this because learning to deal with keyboard warriors who are quick to be combative and even hurl threats is no different from encountering unsavoury behaviour in person.  The way I see it, if I'm immensely blessed, I have another 4 to 5 decades to be here, and I'm sure that I don't want to spend any of my remaining time being offended or carrying hate.  If someone is rude or purposefully looks to hurt or take advantage of me or others, I want that energy out of my life immediately.

If a person is suffering and asking for help, I'll do all I can to give of myself.  But with those who are quick to be offended, combative, or looking to take advantage, I refuse to allow their toxic vibration sap my life energy away from people and other living creatures I love and want to serve.

From all that I've experienced thus far, I'm certain that those who walk with toxic energy can create disease in the people they regularly abuse.  It's a valuable life skill to recognize this and protect our own vibration whenever we encounter such damaging energy.

We are most free and able to help others when we carry in our hearts only what we love. No need to carry anything else.
