Heartfelt Thanks

Just under two weeks ago, I sent out a note about our client care manager Rebecca losing her oldest daughter who was just 24 and left behind two young children.

I know that Rebecca was deeply moved by the generosity and thoughtfulness of those who contributed to a fund to help with funeral expenses as well as the care of her two grandchildren in the months ahead.  With the funds raised, Rebecca was able to arrange a final resting place and services for her daughter.   Read more

Some Sad News

Early this morning, I was greatly saddened to learn that our client care manager Rebecca lost her oldest daughter yesterday.

Rebecca's daughter was in her mid-20s and left behind two beautiful children, ages 7 and 4.

Those of you who have communicated with Rebecca over the past few years likely have a good sense of how kind she is.  I count her as one of the most thoughtful, hardworking, and humble people I know. Read more

Can Selfish People Change?

Hi Dr. Ben,

I've been following your blog for many years and have found so much comfort in similar experiences that we've had with family and friends. I'm writing with hope that you can tell me your opinion on an issue that has been gnawing away at me since I was a teenager.

I have an older brother who I'll call Sam. I'm too exhausted to dance around this so I will simply say that he's the worst person I know. He's a real creep. Allow me to explain why. Read more
